We can trust Prensa Latina, US activists say

Washington, Jun 16 (Prensa Latina) The Co-Chair of the National Network on Cuba in the United States, Cheryl LaBash, on Thursday said that Prensa Latina is the news agency that we can trust to report the truth.

Happy anniversary, the activist said in a message sent to this media outlet on its 63rd anniversary on June 16.

“For working class people who fight for the better world that we need and deserve, Prensa Latina is an important source,” LaBash added.

“Until victory forever” from your friends in the United States!, she said.

Meanwhile, Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the group of women for peace Code Pink, praised the role of this agency since its foundation, thanks to the ideas of Cuban Historic Leader Fidel Castro.

“I read Prensa Latina’s news,”,Bejamin assured when sending her regards to the working team of a media outlet she considers necessary.

She added that she is happy that they have been able to report paramount news all these years to particularly know what is happening in the Americas and what we can do to support progressive fights on the continent.

This agency was founded a few months after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on Jan.1, 1959, as an alternative to the major news outlets in Latin America and the Caribbean, then controlled by US outlets Associated Press and United Press International.
