Venezuelan foreign minister fosters bilateral cooperation at UN

United Nations, Sep 26 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza held friendly meetings to boost cooperation with international authorities who are participating in the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.

Respect and humanitarian collaboration were the premises of a meeting between the head of Venezuelan diplomacy and the President of the International Red Cross Committee, Peter Maurer, with the goal of expanding programs that will contribute to meeting the Venezuelan people’s main needs.

During the meeting, they noted the work of the Bolivarian Government, despite US aggressions, to improve humanitarian technical assistance through the support provided by the International Red Cross, which has provided tons of medicines and medical surgical supplies.

As part of the agenda of the Venezuelan delegation in the framework of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, Arreaza also met with his Nepalese counterpart, Pradip Kumar.

The two foreign ministers highlighted the friendship between both countries, based on mutual trust, joint work in areas of common interest and respect for each party’s aspirations.

At a meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borrell, Arreaza reviewed the stance of the European Union on the new talks between the Bolivarian Government and sectors of the Venezuelan opposition, which started last week with the installation of a Peace Negotiations Table.
