
Caracas, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela”s Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, insisted Monday on respect for the self-determination of peoples as a principle of the UN Charter, which reflects that no state should meddle in the internal affairs of others.
During a press conference with national and international media, the diplomat stated that Venezuela has a clear position on the destabilising attempts carried out by the local right and the US Government.
Arreaza reiterated they are in the conversations process with the U.S. chargé d’affaires in Caracas for the confirmation of the establishment of interest offices in both nations, after the culmination of diplomatic and political relations established by the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
He also stressed that diplomatic ties are based not only on declarations, but also on practice.
In this regard, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister stressed that the Venezuelan president is willing to restart respectful dialogue with the opposition and governments that so desire, to maintain peace and national sovereignty.
‘We are acting in good faith in Venezuela in respect for the Constitution and established international agreements, the President stated that if necessary he will meet with Donald Trump’, Arreaza said.
