
Caracas, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan government begins today the search house by house, as well as in public spaces, for vulnerable people who will be attended through the Integral Plan of Attention to Victims of the Economic War.
The Health Minister, Carlos Alvarado, explained to the press that the program will begin in the capital cities of the South American country, and will extend in a first phase to several priority states, with special attention to the border areas.
In this regard, he reported that representatives of Movimiento Somos Venezuela, Health Committees, Humanized Delivery, Front Francisco de Miranda, Chamba Juvenil and social organizations will participate in the conference.
Alvarado argued that the first step of the program, instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, will be to identify families and people who are in a critical situation because they have difficulties accessing medicines and food, due to the economic blockade imposed by the United States.
Once the people are located, the Minister explained that the Ministry of Health will perform a complete clinical review that includes anthropometric and nutritional assessment, and in the case of children will be incorporated into the vaccination and worm elimination plan.
Likewise, he assured that the plan includes pregnant women, who will receive the necessary micronutrients, in addition to the recruitment of adolescent mothers and women of childbearing age for contraception.
For this mission, the minister recalled the Bolivarian Government will also activate four thousand health centers that are located in the most vulnerable areas.
Alvarado emphasized the priority of government assistance will be families in extreme poverty, where the head of the household cannot maintain the space of his residence or the inhabitants of it.
People with disabilities and chronic diseases, such as cancer patients or kidney problems, prone to extreme poverty.
Citizens living on the street who do not have a home and thus do not have the required food.
Elderly population who care for children, because their parents emigrated in search of other alternatives.
Likewise, older adults who live alone, with no relatives for their care, and infants who work in search of sustenance for their family will benefit.
With regard to the launch of the Comprehensive Plan for Attention to Victims of Economic Warfare, Movimiento Somos Venezuela and the Ministry of Planning will carry out the construction of infrastructures to determine the capacity of attention in the Missions Bases, food houses, Barrio Adentro offices, among others.
