Washington, Jul 20.- US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Cuba on August 14 to preside the official hoisting ceremony of the flag in the US Embassy in Havana, Cuba, as reported by US television network CNN Monday.
The two countries formalized their intention to restablishment diplomatic relations, which had been broken by Washington 54 years ago,and increase the level of their offices which had been working as Interest Sections up to now, and from now on, they will acquire the status of embassies.
Secretary John Kerry will receive his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, a few hours after having witness today the reopening of the Cuban Embassy in Washington, where the Cuban national flag was already hoisted.
RodrÃguez stated in his speech the strong political will and decision of Cuba to move towards a civilized coexistence that favors the solution of the problems between the two neighbors.
The head of the Cuban diplomacy said he carried a greeting from President Raul Castro as an expression of goodwill, saying that this reapprochement will be based on mutual respect and sovereign equality in the dialogue, nevertheless of the differences that exist between the two governments, and for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
