Havana, Dec 4 (Prensa Latina) The first friendly dual-meet between the national kickboxing teams of the United States and Cuba (amateur) will take the attention of fans Friday, as confirmed by Eric Gutierrez, general director of the Cuban Sports and Recreation Institute (INDER).
Gutierrez told reporters from the Cuban News Agency (ACN, Spanish) the Havana Sports City Colisseum will be the host of the event, presenting modalities such as the LOW KICK and K-1 RULE.
There will be 10 fights in total, each one of three rounds, with two minutes of duration, in the categories of 57, 60, 63.5, 67, 71, 81 and 91 kilograms
The US team will present a selection from their national amateur team, which is one of the best in the whole world, managed by Charles Post, president of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) in the US.
The Cuban Kickboxing School was founded in 1990. Cuba is a WAKO member since February 1998, and receives support from international organizations.
