Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban destination Jardines del Rey was visited by more than 230,000 tourists from different countries during the first six months, to total a 13 percent increase.
Jardines del Rey is located at the northern cays in Ciego de Avila some 430 kilometers east from Havana and has 16 four-and-five star hotels and more than 7,900 rooms.
Iyolexis Correa, official from the Ministry of Tourism in the province, said that Canada is the main tourist source, although there was an increase in the visit of national tourists.
She said that this year the tourist-sending countries varied with the arrival of new flights at the International Airport in Cayo Coco from Poland, Russia, Italy and France.
Jardines del Rey, made up of the cays Coco and Guillermo, is one of the most appealing Cuban beach resorts due to the excellent beaches of coral origin and fine sand, as well as exuberant and well protected wildlife.
