Havana, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuba added three gold medals at the Caribbean Cup ping-pong tennis being held here, predominating in the female individual and double in both sexes, the latter two at the U-21 category. Idalis Lovet was the most awarded of the day by winning the couples with Lisy Castillo and then the single under 21. In the first specialty the victory was 3-0 for Cubans Anell Garcia and Yuneisy Galván, while the victory at the individual cost a great deal of battle, to defeat Dominican Eva Brito 3-2.
The bronze in the women’s doubles went to Lineth Vila-Karla Brito and Eva Brito-Yohenny Valdes, from the Dominican Republic, and in the U-21 single, for Galvan and Garcia, from Cuba.
Finally, in the under 21 men’s tournament Livan Martinez won after winning over Dominican Isaac Vila 3-1, with the third place for the Cuban Carlos Sanchez and David Vila from the Dominican Republic.
The individual competition for seniors in both sexes will start Thursday afternoon, whose finals will be held on Friday.
