The Netherlands sends medical supply donation to Cuba

Havana, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) The Netherlands has sent a medical supply donation to Cuba in order to support the fight against Covid-19.

The batch, worth over 832,000 euros, includes more than one million face masks, 40,000 isolation medical gowns and over one million gloves for hospital use, among other supplies, according to the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

During reception, Cuban Foreign Trade Ministry´s Trade Policy with Europe Department Director Inalvis Bonachea thanked the Netherlands on behalf of the Cuban government and people.

The initiative was promoted by the Holanda ProCuba organization, with a long tradition of friendship and cooperation with Cuba, and also through the assistance by the Nirint Shipping Company.

Rigoberto Zarza, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP)´s Europe Department Director, recognized organizer Willem Veldhoven´s efforts and works, in support of Cuba.

‘It is a great pleasure to witness how this gesture of solidarity with Cuba and its people becomes a reality amid difficult times,’ the Netherlands Ambassador to Cuba Eric Strating said.
