La Paz, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian president, Evo Morales considered today that the Cuban Five were imprisoned in United States for monitoring terrorist groups in US, are heroes of Cuba and Bolivia, too.
After decorating the Cuban Five, as Gerardo Hernández, Fernando González, René González, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero are internationally known, in the rank of Knight, Morales considered them heroes of Bolivia and Latin America, too.
For me, the brothers are not only Cubans, they are Latin American and heroes of all anti-imperialist worldwide, and is a pride to receive them here in the Quemado Palace, also referring to Colonel, Orlando Cardoso, as part of the Five and also deserves the Marcelo Quiroga order.
With your release not only Cuba triumphed, but all our countries, commented the first indigenous president of Bolivia, who warned that he had to get to the power to receive world personalities in Bolivia, among them the Nobel Peace Prize, Adolfo Perez Esquivel.
Morales recalled that we are in time of war, intervention and assured that the United Nations has not fulfilled its mandate of ensuring peace in the world, while small groups of countries want to solve their problems plundering other peoples.
The president also reaffirmed his opposition to the US blockade against Cuba and demanded its end, after more than five decades, while recognizing the principles and intelligence of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and its President Raul Castro.
In Bolivia, the six heroes of the Republic of Cuba will meet a busy schedule, which includes a meeting with members of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly and the José Martí School, besides friends of their country and representatives of Cuban missions.
They will also pay tribute to the Argentine-Cuban guerrillaman, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara in Vallegrande, where his mortal remains and those of several of his combatants remained hidden for 30 years and in La Higuera, the place where he was assassinated in October 9, 1967.
Their return to Cuba is scheduled for the coming Saturday from the eastern city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
