The African Spirit of Cuba and South Carolina: Art and Heritage

Allen University, in partnership with Palmetto Luna Arts and the South Carolina Hispanic Leadership Council, is pleased to present The African Spirit of Cuba and South Carolina: Art and Heritage. This event will showcase discussions on the topic of artistic expression and how world renowned artist Salvador González Escalona, uses his art as a means for stirring public awareness and debate on issues of identity, ethnicity,  race, and heritage. The event will also showcase Geoffroy de Laforcade, a Professor of Latin and Caribbean History at Norfolk State University and the former director (2012-2016) of NSU’s International Studies and Service-Learning Program.
