
Damascus, July 24 ( Prensa Latina) The delegation of the Business Group of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries -BioCubaFarma- of Cuba, which is making a working visit to Syria, held meetings TWednesday with the highest economic, banking and health authorities of this nation.
The Cuban delegation and its hosts held talks at the Ministry of Health headquarters, where both sides ratified their willingness to continue cooperating in the supply of medicines needed by the Syrian people.
Syrian Deputy Health Minister Habib Aboud highlighted the deep and historic relations between Syria and Cuba and expressed the desire of this Arab country to continue acquiring Cuban medicines over the next few years in order to guarantee the needs of the national market.
In this regard, he indicated that, given the safety, efficiency, quality and competitive prices, Syria has given priority to importing medicines from Cuba.
The talks also addressed the implementation of agreements already signed, and the signing of new ones to ensure continuity to this collaboration.
The new agreement’s objectives will also include the joint production of prophylactic vaccines and other basic biological products for Syria and other countries in the region.
