Ciego de Avila, Cuba Mar 3 (Prensa Latina) The delegation of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in this province maintains today its solidarity activity in social networks, due to the complex epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19.
The ICAP delegate in Ciego de Avila, Tania Maria Companioni, said that since direct contact with friends from other countries is impossible, they carry out exchanges virtually, through the page Always with Cuba.
She said that they focus their attention on denouncing the harsh economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by the United States against the island for almost six decades.
On the 17th of each month, the members of this institution participate in online events to show the damages caused in different branches of the economy and services that directly affect the Cuban people, she said.
She pointed out that in February the residents of Ciego de Avila denounced the damages faced by the sports movement, among which stands out the lack of resources to carry out training sessions, due to the restrictive measures imposed by the United States against Cuba.
They also maintained contacts through social networks with friends in North America and were aware of the events held in several cities in the United States and Canada, he said.
He explained that they frequently maintain exchanges through Facebook and Twitter, with solidarity groups and affectionate people from Nicaragua, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Italy, France and Canada, among others.
He also maintains close ties with young foreigners studying in Ciego de Avila universities and with internationalist doctors serving missions in different parts of the world.
