From October 16 to 22, the V International Fishing Tournament Jardines del Rey “Big Game Trolling” will be held, organized by The Marlin Marina Cayo Guillermo, where competitors will attend from Canada, UK, Turkey, France and Cuba.
Luis Baez, trade specialist from the Ministry of Tourism in Ciego de Avila, said the tournament area will cover up to 3 miles north between Cayo Coco and Guillermo, in the Old Bahamas Channel, an area that is characterized by the abundance of pelagic or peak fishes at this time of year.
As in previous years the competition will be governed by the rules of the International Game Fish Association through the system of marking and release in order to protect the marine environment.
Fishing Tournament Jardines del Rey became a contest to promote one of the most remarkable Cuban tourist destinations for the beauty of its rich flora and fauna with a very natural setting. (Prensa Latina)
