Havana, Dec 14 (Prensa Latina) Salvadorian President Salvador Sanchez Ceren on Sunday condemned the United States blockade of Cuba, as well as the Caribbean island”s inclusion in the State Department”s list of countries that sponsor terrorism. Sanchez Ceren expressed support for Cuba and Venezuela against Washington’s efforts to overthrow the revolutionary processes being implemented in the two countries, by adopting unilateral coercive measures.
Speaking at the 13th Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples’ Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), being held at Havana’s Palace of the Revolution, the Salvadorian president noted the importance of integration for regional development.
He noted that ALBA-TCP, created ten years ago as a result of the political vision and solidarity of the revolutionary commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez, is a powerful unitary platform for inclusive social development.
Sanchez Ceren highlighted the bloc’s achievements in literacy, education, health care, and hunger and poverty eradication in the region, which has a promising future.
It is time to continue consolidating our ideals to build welfare, peace and happiness together. We are committed to strengthening integration and the transformation of our societies, the Salvadorian president stressed.
