Process of nomination to the PSUV in Venezuela 'successful'

Caracas, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) The First Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, described the process nominating candidates for the primaries as ‘successful’.

The Party closed a partial nomination by midnight Sunday with more than 27 thousand proposals, which will be presented on August 8th to the internal elections of the organization for the November 21st elections. There are many more to be announced.

Cabello said during the press conference at the Main Theater of Caracas that there are 2,361 women and 1,232 men nominated for the positions of governors, and highlighted the leadership of women in this process.

Cabello described the application day as ‘successful’, and congratulated the people for their participation.

For his part, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted that the decision to consult the grassroots and give the floor to the militant people was the right one, and they had achieved ‘a total victory.’
