Havana, Jan 21 (Prensa Latina) The president of Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique Gonzalez, and the deputy general director of China Central Television (CCTV), Li Xia, signed on Monday a cooperation agreement that includes the exchange of news casts.
At the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, where an international journalism event is held hosted by the Latin American agency, González and Li agreed that the agreement will show the reality of both countries, often distorted by media campaigns.
Li said that among other services, the contract will allow the exchange of news and will serve to boost cooperation in new areas that will gradually be identified.
Now Prensa Latina joins the hundreds of partners around the world with which it has CCTV, he said.
For his part, Gonzalez said the agreement is a first step to identify other areas in which both media can work together.
The agreement was signed on the opening day of the forum dedicated to discussing the challenges of Latin American journalism, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Operation Truth, meeting of 400 foreign journalists called to Havana, when the Revolution had not yet completed 20 days of life, to face media campaigns.
