Havana, Apr 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has demanded peace and calm for the people of Venezuela, in the face of the escalating hostility by the United States against that country.
‘Cease the threats, the sanctions, the interference and the sabotage against the Venezuelan Revolution’, wrote the president in his Twitter account.
Diaz-Canel added his voice to the international demand ‘Hands-off Venezuela’, in a context marked by the sabotaje actions against the power grid of the South American nation, affecting millions of persons.
The head of State joined the echo of a message of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, who assured the country will recover from the attacks.
The immense majority of the Venezuelan people want peace and quiet, sentenced the South American leader.
Cuba has been among the more active nations in denouncing the aggressiveness of the United States against Venezuela and in demanding respect for the declaration of the region as a zone of peace, signed in Havana, in January, 2014, during the Second Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Clacs).
