Painters from Santiago de Cuba to Attend US International Fair

Santiago de Cuba, July 4 (Prensa Latina) Naive painters from Bayate group, based in the Julio Antonio Mella municipality, Santiago de Cuba province, will have the opportunity to attend the International Folk Art Fair, which will be held in the next few days, in Santa Fe, USA.

Speaking to Prensa Latina shortly before his departure for New Mexico, Luis Rodriguez, Bayate group leader, explained that they will exhibit some products belonging to 15 artists and about 70 paintings in which inspirations are expressed based on the experiences of their real environment.

Rodriguez also stated that this is precisely the artistic trend that distinguishes Bayate artists, who recreate the natural setting they inhabit and insights of their daily life in the paintings, including their childhood memories.

The Student, a pen name given in reference to his father’s teachings, founder of such an initiative, said the event will be held from July 11 through 14.

He stated that Bayate’s participation in this 15th edition, which will be attended by around 500 artists from around 70 nations, is already being broadcasting in the US press.
