Over a hundred Cuban youths to attend regional congress

Havana, Nov 15 (Prensa Latina) More than a hundred students and young people will represent Cuba at the XIX Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Students (OCLAE), to be held in Caracas, Venezuela, it was reported today.

The delegation was flagged off yesterday at the March 13 Park in this capital during a ceremony in which it was ratified as the main motivation of the delegates to show the anti-imperialist and Latin Americanist stance of the Cuban student organizations.

The Congress will be a space for the integration of youth and student forces who will share their experiences in solving division and the poor dialogue that marks the popular movements, as was told by Hamlet Alvarez, national president of the Federation of High School Students, to the Cuban News Agency (Agencia Cubana de Noticias).

He stressed that the Caracas meeting will be the extension of debates held in other meetings on issues such as democracy, human rights and environmental protection, which mark the agenda of the Latin American and Caribbean Continental Organization of Students (Oclae).

The Congress will be held in Caracas from November 16 to 22 and will be dedicated to the figure of Ernesto Che Guevara and to the Student University Federation of Cuba on its centennial.
