SANCTI SPIRITUS, Cuba, Sept 17 (acn) Over 270 papers will be presented at the 25th International Congress on Orthopedics, to be held in the city of Trinidad, in Sancti Spiritus province, from September 22nd through the 27th.
Representatives of Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Panama, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, the United States, China, Martinique, Angola and Mozambique, in addition to the host country, have already confirmed their attendance.
Also participating will be over 20 firms producing or commercializing medical equipment and consumables in Orthopedics.
Dr. Rodrigo Alvarez Cambras, president of the Cuban Society of Orthopedics (SCOT), told ACN that innovations in this field, painful backs, correcting osteotomies, articular replacements, traumas in sports and Pediatric Orthopedics will be some of the topics tackled during the meeting.
There will be two keynote lectures, one of them related to orthopedic surgery teaching, in charge of Dr. Alvarez Cambras. The other one will focus on the history of that specialty in Mexico, by Professor Mario Armando Castellano.
