CUBA STANDARD –
A 43-member delegation from Orlando, Florida will travel to Cuba April 2-6 as part of the ‘A Taste of Cuba’ people-to-people tour.
Most of the participants are members of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Even so, they won’t be doing business, nor will they be meeting with Cuban officials, Chamber Vice President José Fajardo told the Orlando Sentinel.
“We will be there to learn about the culture and people of Cuba,” he said.
The group will be flying out of Tampa, on a charter flight to Havana. The Orlando Chamber followed the example of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, which sent a non-business delegation to Cuba last year.
The itinerary includes visits to the Plaza de la Revolución, Revolution Museum, Instituto Cubano de la Música, Museo de Literatura Cubana, and Hemingway’s finca La Vigía. The trip costs $2,999 per person.
