Mother of Cuban Hero Receives Solidarity in Visit to Mexico

Mexico, May 29 (Prensa Latinaa) Mirta Rodríguez, mother of Antonio Guerrero, one of the Cuban anti-terrorist prisoners in United States,ended today a visit to Mexico during which she received support in favor of the release of the fighters. Her visit to this country had two main objectives, to present the poetry collection “La Verdad Me Nombra” (The Truth Names Me), written by her son, and inform about the realization of the 3rd Annual “Five Days for the Cuban Five”, taking place in Washington DC from June 4 to 11.

In a one-week journey, Rodriguez shared talked to several Mexican sectors about the case of Antonio and his four companions: Gerardo Hernández and Ramón Labañino, still imprisoned, and Fernando González and René González, already in Cuba after completely serving their penalties.

Yesterday, the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District (ALDF) expressed its solidarity with the campaign for the release of the three Cubans who are still in U.S. prisons since 1998, for monitoring the actions against the island of violent groups based in Florida.

Deputy Gabriel Godínez announced the representative body approved a item of agreement to ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the case, internationally denouncing the many irregularities it has suffer.

At the same time, the parliamentarian stated his party, the Democratic Revolution Party, will develop here cultural activities for the release of the anti-terrorists.
