Mexico City, Jan 9 (Prensa Latina) Mexican, Canadian and U.S. presidents condemned Monday in a joint statement the coup attempt orchestrated against Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The brief statement indicated these incidents were attacks on Brazilian democracy and peaceful transfer of power.
We support the Federative Republic of Brazil in safeguarding its democratic institutions. Our governments support the free will of the Brazilian people.
We look forward to working together with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to deliver for our countries, the Western Hemisphere and the rest of the world, the text concluded.
