Mexico donates 1,000 stoves to Cuba

Mexico, Nov 10 (Prensa Latina) All 1,000 stoves for victims of Hurricane Ian in Pinar del Río, Cuba, donated in Mexico, were loaded in the container that will carry them to their destination, Ambassador Marcos Rodríguez informed on Thursday.

A group of embassy workers and representatives of Cuban residents in Mexico and Promotora de Solidaridad Va por Cuba, carried out this voluntary work imbued with enthusiasm so that the much-needed goods leave as soon as possible to the Caribbean island.

The donation was delivered by Alfredo Delgado, president of the Board of Directors of Grupo Delher, Promotora de Solidaridad Va por Cuba, and the Jose Marti Association of Cubans Residents in Mexico.

The ambassador noted that the container is now ready to be uploaded on a ship and transported to Cuba. He thanked the participants in the volunteer work and the donors for this new act of fraternity and solidarity.

Rodríguez recalled that the hurricane caused severe damages to the infrastructure and communications in the western province of Pinar del Rio, where the stoves will be sent, several people lost their lives and others their homes, while there was a severe interruption of the electric service.

The diplomat insisted that this donation of stoves to the most affected families is essential, and they will be delivered through the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
