MasterCard Unblocks American Transactions In Cuba

MasterCard stopped blocking Cuban transactions on its cards issued by United States banks Sunday, March 1st.

The company made the move following the beginning of normalization of relations between the United States and Cuba.

American Express was the latest company to make a similar announcement, saying it will soon begin doing business on the island under new regulations outlined by the Obama administration.

Other companies are likely to follow, industry experts have said.

The company are working under new financial rules that are part of President Obama’s initiative to normalize diplomatic relations with the island nation.
