Camagüey, July 20. – With the participation of 150 young people in all municipalities in this province – delegates and guests to the Provincial Festival of Youth and Students- opened this week Summer Camp in the Camagüey´s capital city.
The event will take place this Saturday and Sunday, as a prelude of the International event, scheduled for next October in the Russian city of Sochi.
The program includes workshops devoted to the development of education, science, culture, employment and sustainable development, democracy and human rights, among other topics.
This wednesday the Camagüey´s novices toured Limones-Tuabaquey protected area sites, in the Sierra de Cubitas, where they exchanged with specialists on the species of the flora and fauna that treasures that nature reserve of great value to the ecosystem.
Today, Thursday, they support the constructive work in the amphitheater of the Future Exhibition and the orchid gardens, both in the city of Camagüey, works that receive a boost in the context of the Day of the National Rebelliousness, that in Cuba is celebrated every July 26.
The itinerary also provides for an encounter with the history, through the sights of this ancient city, among which are the Museo Casa Natal de Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz and Revolution Square that bears his name, where the Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro, led in 1989 the national commemoration of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.
In the School Teacher Trainer Nicolás Guillén, the headquarters of the camp, also enjoy during these days of a sport and recreational programming.
The presentation of the delegation of Camagüey to the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students will be the culmination of the event, which will conclude with the planting of a allegorical tree to the event in the urban park Casino Campestre.
With the slogan “For peace, solidarity and social justice, we fight against imperialism. Honoring our past, we build the future” will meet in Sochi young people from several countries to discuss and share experiences with anti-imperialist and in favor of the global progress. (Gladys D.
