
Windhoek, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Namibia’s ruling party reiterated on Friday its condemnation of the US blockade against Cuba and expressed regret over the setback in relations between the two countries under the Trump administration.
The position was expressed in an exchange with Cuban Ambassador Sidenio Acosta by the head of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO), Evelyn Nawases-Taeyele, in the parliament of this nation.
According to a press release from the Embassy of Cuba, the diplomat and the lawmaker agreed on the excellent state of relations between Cuba and Namibia and the interest of both sides in continuing their effortts to consolidate these ties.
The note adds that the ambassador praised, in particular, President Hage Geingob’s speech in the hihg-level debate of the UN General Assembly, in which he condemned the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
