Jamaica appreciates Cuba’s medical cooperation in Covid-19 times

Kingston, Jan 18 (Prensa Latina) Jamaica appreciated Cuba’s medical cooperation in Covid-19 times, whose help extends to 38 countries.

Jamaican Minister of Health Christopher Tufton held a virtual meeting with Cuban Ambassador in Kingston Ines Fors Fernandez, at which they exchanged opinions on the work of 433 Cuban healthcare professionals and their impact on that nation’s medical services.

Tufton and Fors Fernandez assessed the possibility of diversifying cooperation in this sector, as part of the diplomatic relations that both countries have maintained since 1972, on the basis of respect and solidarity.

Amid the fight against Covid-19, Cuban medical collaborators guarantee health care to the Jamaican people with over 7,068 lives saved and over 375,37 cases seen in 2020.

Meanwhile, 86 teachers are distributed throughout the country and are teaching at all educational levels, thus contributing to the professional training of that sisterly Caribbean nation.
