International Crafts Fair, FIART 2015, occupy spaces in Havana

1448030909fiart-2015[1]With the participation of 60 foreign stands, 33 of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC), and 254 individual craftsmen, will reach PABEXPO from 4 to 20 December, the XIX International Crafts Fair, FIART 2015.Surnai Benitez, adviser to the Directorate of FCBC, told the Cuban News Agency that FIART have room stands the usual Peru, Mexico, Chile and other countries in Latin America, and will include the incorporation of China, absent in the last edition.

Dedicated this year to the province of Matanzas, and ceramics as an art form, the fair will have a special space curated by the National Museum of Contemporary Cuban Ceramics, which will provide a sample of large master potters, as Amelia Pelaez, Alfredo Sosabravo and others.

As usual, we will have the participation of the Company Artistic and Literary Promotions, ARTEX SA, with its Art House project; and a new initiative aimed at the recreation of national symbols in textile manufacturing respectfully said Benitez.

He also reported that the company will also be Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM), with their record deals; Genesis Art Galleries; Collage Habana; the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), and La Casa del Abanico.

It will be held from 8 to 11 in seven of PABEXPO room, a theoretical event dedicated to ceramics, covering an extensive program of conferences, exhibition research and book presentations.

Benitez explained that this theoretical program has been maintained for several years because it is an opportunity for FIART not only an act of buying and selling, but also an act of reflection, debate, movement of ideas and contribute to the development of the demonstration.

The XIX International Crafts Fair will be opened on 4 December, with performances by artists from Matanzas, Miguel Failde as Orchestra, the Spiral Dance Group, and others.
