
New Delhi, Oct 17 (Prensa Latina) An event of solidarity with Cuba in Vijayawada, the capital of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, demanded an end to the unjust and criminal economic blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean island, a diplomatic source informed on Monday.
At the meeting, sponsored by the “People’s Literature” organization and the Communist Party of India, participants expressed a sentiment of admiration and solidarity with Cuba, whose Revolution and historic leader, Fidel Castro, continues being an example for them, as well as the achievements in health care and a fairer social system.
Cuban Ambassador Alejandro Simancas thanked Indians for the expressions of friendship and solidarity and exchanged viewpoints with the participants interested in learning about Cuba’s history and reality and the opportunities for bilateral collaboration in health care and education.
