French trade unionists in solidarity with Cuba against Covid-19

Havana, Jun 3 (Prensa Latina) A donation of 25 000 euros for the fight against Covid-19 in Cuba was delivered by the Union of Railway Workers of the General Workers’ Central of France, local media reported today.

According to Cubadebate, the aid will be used for the purchase of supplies needed for the health intervention with the vaccine candidates Abdala and Soberana 02, developed by scientists from the Antillean country.

Solidarity is more important than ever to face the coronavirus, said the head of the French union, Sebastián Viscuso, during the delivery of the contribution to the Revolution Defense Committee (CDR) at its headquarters in this capital.

Viscuso assured that they hope to extend the collaboration with the Cuban family organization in the fight against the disease caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

At the meeting, the national coordinator of the CDR, Gerardo Hernández, thanked the solidarity gesture on behalf of the members of the largest mass organization in the country.

The also Hero of the Republic of Cuba called for strengthening the exchange bridges between the two countries.
