Foreign Scholarships in Cuba Celebrate International Day of Africa

Camaguey, May 24.- The International Day of Africa was celebrated today by students of that continent involved in about 15 specialties in universities of this city, Cultural Heritage.

Sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the celebration was instituted on May 25, 1963, in which date the African Union Organization was founded.

The student Saido Danso, from Guinea Bissau said that they considered themselves African not only for being born ib that land but also for defending their identity and cultural roots.

Danso reiterated the African people rejection to the U.S. blockade against Cuba and demanded the release of three of the five Cubans held in U.S. prisons yet, Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero and Ramón Labañino. (Prensa Latina).
