Havana, May 4.- U.S. specialists are meeting today with their Cuban counter parts in the framework of the 2nd CIREN-USA Clinical-Scientific Exchange on Multiple Sclerosis, which the International Center for Neurological Restoration (CIREN) will host until tomorrow.
The meeting is discussing this time the approach and treatments in Multiple Sclerosis, as well as diagnostic techniques and new features reached in neuro-rehabilitation for patients with this disease.
Dr. Amado Diaz, chief of the Center for Spinal Cord Injury, neuromuscular disorders and multiple sclerosis,and President of the Cuban Society of Multiple Sclerosis,and Dr. Victor Rivera, Emeritus Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, founding Director of Maxine Mesinger MS Clinic and Associate Professor in Research at the University of Houston, chair the meeting by CIREN and USA, respectively.
Specialists from the Cleveland Clinic, the universities of Texas and Minnesota, as well as the Woman’s Hospital of Texas, are also participating in the meeting.
CIREN is an institution that has established a technology for the neuro-restorative, multifactorial, intensive and personalized treatment, based on the principle of neuroplasticity to achieve structural and functional recovery of the injured nervous system. (Prensa Latina)
