Havana, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) The 35th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2017), was inaugurated today in Expocuba with the presence of 3,400 exhibitors from more than 70 countries.
The minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, and president of the Organizing Committee, Rodrigo Malmierca, recalled that the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro helped promote and support this business showcase.
In the presence of the vice president of the Council of Ministers and minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas, Malmierca assured that Fihav has consolidated itself as a multi-sectorial event, attracting an ever growing number of companies.
This confirms, he added, the increased participation at this 35th edition, in an area occupied in Expocuba of more than 27,000 square meters, and confirms the fair as an ideal space to arrange business and investments.
Malmierca highlighted that the main commercial partners of Cuba are represented with broad participation: Venezuela, China, Russia and Spain, the most represented country with five pavilions.
He asserted that this event is important among the Latin America and the Caribbean countries, in correspondence with increasing commercial and economic relations, and regional integration.
The minister expressed his satisfaction that the trade exhibit is made at a time when the country faces economic and financial difficulties.
Fihav 2017 concludes on October 3 with the award ceremony. On Monday, they celebrate the National Days of Russia, India, Panama, South Korea, and Belarus.
