Exhibitors from 18 Countries to Participate in Cuban Crafts Fair

fiart2014[1]Havana, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) About 70 exhibitors from 18 countries will show their products at the XVIII International Crafts Fair (Fiart 2014), scheduled from 6 to 21 December at the fairground PABEXPO in Havana, the organizers reported today.

At the event, a suitable space to display the potential of the Cuban cultural industry, there will be a significant representation of Latin American countries, said at a press conference the director of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets (FCBC), Jorge Alfonso Garcia.

On this subject, he mentioned Peru, Mexico, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy, etc. among the countries which repeat their participation in this crafts fair.

The presentation of the productions of these nations will complement the offer of several national agencies and the 270 Cuban artisans who will participate with their proposals in Fiart 2014, said the FCBC director.

According to Garcia, the space utilization is significant in the next edition. The fact of using for the first time the four rooms of PABEXPO (A, B, C and D) is something that differs from previous editions, he explained.

In the words of the FCBC director, the development of crafts and design in this country itself is a qualitative element that demonstrates the preparation of our artisans in the production of furniture, footwear, ceramics, textiles, metalwork and others.

In the context of Fiart, we will always try to introduce new products, and rather than a representation of all the provinces, the important thing is that proposals displayed have quality, he said during a press meeting at Casa del Alba.
