European solidarity with Cuba platform to expand its reach

Paris, Jan 12 (Prensa Latina) The channel Europa por Cuba (Europe for Cuba) this year is planning to strengthen ties with solidarity with Cuba associations from other regions, particularly from Latin America, the coordinators of this initiative announced on Wednesday.

Spanish Jose Antonio Toledo and Cuban resident in France Haydeline Diaz told Prensa Latina that the priority of the platform, activated in October, 2020, is to fight against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and the importance of strengthening global unity in this fight.

Therefore, we started this year making contact with organizations and people not only from Europe but also from other parts of the world, in order to work together on concrete actions to support Cuba and its Revolution, they said.

According to the activists, they are working in Latin America with solidarity associations from Argentina, Chile, Honduras, Mexico and other nations, an approach they are planning to strengthen in 2022.

Last year, the channel consolidated its weekly programming, characterized by Sunday broadcasts on YouTube and special editions, with interviews, declarations and calls to street activities to condemn the blockade and plans to destabilize Cuba.

In its 15 months on air, the platform has also organized global activities against Washington’s blockade and aggresiveness, reported Cuba’s reality, promoted its culture and celebrated events such as national holidays.

Toledo and Diaz, two of the founders of Europa por Cuba, also spoke about the systematic broadcasts of a Russian version of the project and considered the possibility of expanding to other languages.
