
Malabo, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and his Equatorial Guinean counterpart, Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, on Thursday ratified the will of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations.
During a meeting held in this capital, in a friendly atmosphere, the parties agreed on the need to enhance cooperation in areas such as health, education, agriculture and construction, diplomatic sources reported.
On this occasion, the Cuban Foreign Minister thanked Equatorial Guinea for its traditional support to the struggle for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than 60 years.
He also reiterated Cuba’s unwavering commitment to support African causes.
The meeting was attended, on the Cuban side, among other personalities, by the deputy director of the General Directorate of Bilateral Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Angel Villa.
On the Equatoguinean side, Esono Angue was accompanied by Matias Nguema, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, among other officials.
