Díaz-Canel praises relations between Cuba and Mexico

Havana, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the ties between Cuba and Mexico, in the context of the business forum that the two nations are developing in this capital.

In his Twitter profile, the president said that “Mexico and Cuba are also united through business relations that contribute to the mutual benefit of both nations and that complement and integrate our economies”.

This meeting will conclude today with the signing of agreements, after two business rounds, in which opportunities to expand economic, commercial and financial relations were analyzed.

Díaz-Canel attended the opening day accompanied by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas.

About 100 Mexican businessmen and some 150 Cubans are attending the meeting, where they received an update on the Cuban economy, which in the first half of 2022 continued its gradual recovery process.

At the forum, the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, ratified food production, renewable energies and import substitution, among others, as priorities for foreign capital investment in the country.
