Havana, Oct 30 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Diaz-Canel today expressed gratitude for the solidarity aid of several nations in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in Cuba.

In his Twitter account, the dignitary said that in the last hours donations arrived from the Netherlands, Australia, Italy and Japan, in “a chain of solidarity that was opened in the hardest moments and still continues”.

Hospital supplies, medical equipment, oxygen, drugs and food are among the contributions from more than 50 countries, as well as from international organizations, solidarity movements and Cubans living abroad.

This aid has increased significantly since the middle of the year, when the island faced the most complex situation due to the increase in the number of infections caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, the cause of Covid-19.
