Cubans Increase Harvest in Athletics Diamond League

HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 12 (acn) Cuba accumulates one gold, three silver and four bronze medals in the Athletics Diamond League with the third seats reached by Denia Caballero and Ernesto Reve at the fifth stop of this tourney headquartered in Oslo, Norway’s capital.

Caballero achieved a place in the podium with 64.89 meters, while his compatriot Yaime Perez (63.21) finished fourth.

The pole vaulter Lazaro Borges, who once again had a discreet performance (5.32 m), was also present at Norwegian soil.

French Renaud Lavillenie (5.77) kept supremacy in that event; escorted by German Malte Mohr (5.70) and Greek Konstadinos Filippidis (5.60).

For Cuba, Yarisley Silva, London 2012 Olympic silver medalist and world indoor champion in Sopot, Poland, in March, leads women’s pole vault event with six points by winning one gold and a silver medal.

Precisely Silva will compete at the Diamond League sixth stop, with a stage in the U.S. city of New York, on June 14th, where she could increase her particular booty in the competition.
