Damascus, July 26 (Prensa Latina) The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Damascus has celebrated Friday the 66th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks.
The celebration of this historic anniversary was through a symbolic act in the historic city of Maloula, in which diplomats, Cuban graduates and members of the delegation of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries Business Group (BioCubaFarma), which is making a working visit to Syria, participated.
The Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Cuba in Damascus, Pablo Ginarte, pronounced a few words in which he highlighted the historical importance of the date for the Cuban people.
He highlighted the expressions of solidarity received by Cuba from the Syrian people and Palestinian factions living in Damascus.
He also refered to the fact that the people of Syria and Cuba share a common struggle and face an unjust and inhuman economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
