Havana, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), about to celebrate its 55 years, engages today in strengthening the work in communities, to increase opportunities for dialogue.
FMC general secretary, Teresa Amarelle, stressed the importance of neighborhood-family relation, because it is the place where different age groups converge, and is favorable for the exchange of concerns and suggestions.
She said that organization, which brings together about four million Cubans, has among its objectives to influence and communicate about the opportunities and possibilities of women in the country, and exchange experiences concerning the reached economic, physical and sexual autonomy.
Granma newspaper stated that as part of the celebrations for the 55th anniversary of the FMC, a program including a discussion through social networks on the challenges facing Cuba to achieve full gender equality and about plans, projects and measures that are implemented with that premise, is scheduled for August 20.
