
Nassau, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero met here on Tuesday with Bahamas Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin, who expressed her gratitude for bilateral collaboration.
Both officials ratified the willingness to continue expanding cooperation in the educational sector to preserve our roots and fight Internet campaigns that try to discredit us, Marrero confirmed on his Twitter account.
The talks between Cuba and the Bahamas took place in the context of the first Regional Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean, which will be held until next Thursday in Nassau, in preparation for the upcoming United Nations Conference on Climate Change.
The first day, organized in several panels, consists of debates on Mitigation, with emphasis on energy security and sustainability and carbon markets.
It also includes issues related to adaptation to the impacts of climate change, according to the Cuban Presidency.
At the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Philip Davis, called to search for common positions among all Caribbean countries. “Together we are stronger,” he said.
