Havana, Jul 25 (Prensa Latina) Congratulations on the anniversary of Telesur, where we find our truths, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter on Thursday, acknowledging the work of the multinational TV channel, founded 14 years ago.
In his message, the Cuban head of State agreed with Telesur President Patricia Villegas, who said in an interview, ‘We were born with the wind in favor and we are more important with the wind against’.
An initiative by then Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (1954-2013), the TV station has been the voice of the politics, culture and identity the Latin American and Caribbean peoples, who were previously silenced.
In addition, it has closely followed progressive processes in the region, and it has highlighted their impact on the socioeconomic development of its peoples.
