Cuban Pole Vaulter Silva Finishes Ninth in Diamond League

Brussels, Sep 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuban pole vaulter Yarisley Silva finished ninth in the final event of the Athletics Diamond League, with a discreet jump of 4.55 meters.

Silva, a bronze medalist at the 2017 London World Cup, had no options to be first in the contest, which she was leading with 34 points and was won by Greece’s Katerina Stefanidi (4.85 meters) with 32 points.

The European pole vaulter, a Rio de Janeiro Olympic monarch and world winner in the British capital, completed a luxury season in which she was never defeated and got more than 10 successive victories.

Sandi Morris (4.75 meters), from the United States, and Alysha Newman (4.75 meter), from Canada, won silver and bronze medals, respectively.
