Milan, Italy, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) Participants in the 12th meeting of Cubans settled in Europe pledged today to increase actions to lift the US economic, financial and trade blockade against Cuba.
More than 160 delegates of associations in some 20 countries passed the final declaration of the event, which also highlights the promotion of activities to call for the return of the territory occupied by the US Naval Base in Guantanamo against Cuba’s will.
The document indicates the willingness to share information on ‘our culture, traditions and identity wherever we are, with our children, families, friends and citizens from the countries we live in or visit.’
It also highlights the confidence in the Cuban Government on the negotiations with the United States, based on mutual respect and equality, while praising the efforts of the Cuban immigrants supporting that process in the United States.
The 12th meeting of Cubans settled abroad concluded after two days of discussions, while the next meeting was unanimously scheduled for next year in Belgium.
