Beijing, Aug 20 ( Prensa Latina ) China and Cuba reaffirmed this Tuesday the will to deepen their friendship and cooperation by closing a working visit of the Director General of Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada.

In the last of his two days in Beijing, Lozada met with Zheng Zeguang, China’s deputy foreign minister in charge of Latin American and Caribbean affairs, according to a statement from the Cuban diplomatic mission.

Both sides ratified during the dialogue the excellent state of bilateral ties, as well as the commitment to strengthen communication in order to advance towards higher levels of agreement and cooperation between the two governments and foreign ministries, according to the statement.

Zheng assured that China and Cuba are good friends, comrades and brothers and reaffirmed the position of rejection of the Government and the people of his country to the unilateral sanctions and the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

For his part, the Cuban official expressed his satisfaction for the good health of the political relations and the ties between both ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Lozada expressed the political will of the Communist Party and the Cuban government to continue strengthening ties with the Chinese authorities at the highest level, in order to comply with what was agreed between Presidents Miguel Diaz-Canel and Xi Jinping during their meeting in November last year.

As part of Lozada’s work agenda in China, described as successful in the Cuban embassy’s statement, the Foreign Affairs Consultations between the two countries were also held, in which topics of common interest were reviewed.

Lozada’s visit to China took place in the context of his tour of Asia, during which he participated last August 16 in the 50th Pacific Islands Forum.
