Camagüey, Cuba, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) With the introduction of innovations in managing lumbar spine pathology and lectures on shoulder-sacra spine afflictions, the 26th International Congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Camagüey-2015, continue today in this central-eastern Cuban city.
The nearly 300 delegates from 15 nations participating in the meeting until Saturday, Sept. 26, in this World Cultural Heritage city, about 570 kilometers east of Havana, are equally exchanging views around thoraco-lumbar fractures. They will also deepen regarding lumbar herniated disc and degenerative spondylolisthesis: evidence in diagnosis and treatment. They will discuss on 360 spinolaminar divider, and its use as instrumentation for the release of the narrow channel.
Rodrigo Alvarez Cambra, president of the organizing committee, announced at a news conference that in recognition to the island’s performance in orthopedics and traumatology, the French Society of the specialty expects to hold in 2017 in Cuba the 3rd Congress of that organization with that of this country.
He said the Caribbean nation has implemented exchange agreements with many countries in this medicine specialty, and highlighted the international prestige of the Cuban orthopedics, which brings together more than 1,200 doctors.
Alvarez Cambra meant the presence in the 26th International Congress of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Camagüey-2015, of 15 commercial houses of international prestige from France, Panama, Mexico, Spain, China, Argentina, Uruguay, Italy and Cuba, among others exhibiting the most advanced products in this specialty in the world.
The congress is sponsored by the Cuban Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology, the Ministry of Public Health of the island, the International Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology, the Mexican Federation of those specialties and the Pan-American Health Organization, among others.
