Cuban Ballet Dancers to Make Presentations in the U.S. and China

victor-viensayHAVANA, Cuba, july 10 (acn) Viengsay Vakdés, prima ballerina of Cuba’s National Ballet Company (BNC), will perform the pas de deux of Don Quixote and Le Corsaire at the Music Center of Los Angeles, U.S.A., on July 13 and 14.

The Cuban artist, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this institution, one of the three most important centers of performing arts in the United States, will be have Hernán Cornejo, principal dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, as her partenaire.

Valdés will also perform on July 17 and 18 at the gala for the 3rd Contest of Choreography and Ballet Beijing 2015, to be held in the People’s Republic of China.

On this opportunity, the young Cuban artist will interpret, along with BNC leading dancer Víctor Estévez, the pas de deux of Esmeralda and Don Quixote and the suite of Carmen.
The BNC is one of the most prestigious dance companies in the world and occupies a prominent place in contemporary Spanish American culture. It was founded in 1948.
